Normally the sherry used in cooking is called cooking sherry and contains salt and other chemicals. It is not suitable for having as it is. White wine may be a sweet or dry wine. White wine can be replaced with the normal sherry in sweet variety for sweet white wine and with the unsweet variety for dry wine.
