Orange is a highly nutritious fruit, extremely rich in vitamin C. This vitamin helps relieve and prevent a host of disease conditions. Studies have revealed that vitamin C has infection-fighting properties as follows.

·     Urinary tract infection. It helps reduce the incidence of UTI in pregnant women.

·     Common colds. Clinical trials have revealed that taking vitamin C during common cold has reduced the duration of the illness. Some have even reported reduced risk of infection.

·     It is also effective in treating skin infections, lung infections, and bladder infections.

Please note that orange must be taken in addition to the antibiotics prescribed by your doctor and not as a substitute. Find out more about the health benefits of oranges here.
