Blanching pears brings out the flavor more strongly from them. That’s the reason why, before making poached pear and other such pear recipes, chefs prefer to blanch the pears. To blanch pears, bring a pot of water to the gas oven and start boiling it. Now, put the washed pears into the boiling water and simmer for a minute or two. Then remove the pears from the water, drain them dry and cool them to normal temperature. After this, you can easily peel of the skin of the pears.
