Rinse peas in their pods under running water to remove debris. Hull the peas.. Fill a large pot with water to 2/3 full and bring it to a boil. Add a pinch of salt. Place a large bowl with ice cubes on the side. Blanch peas in boiling water for exactly 90 seconds. Once the 90-second is up, immediately plunge peas in ice cubes to stop cooking process. Drain, when the peas are cooled. Place peas in gallon-size freezer bags. Frozen peas are good up to 1 year in resalable bags and 1-1/2 years in vacuumed bags.
