Puris are very popular Indian breads that are deep fried in cooking oil. Originated in Pakistan and North India, Puris are generally served hot right after cooking. Puris are commonly spelled as pooris and these are usually served with alloo ki sabzi (potato vegetables). Puris are one of the most common breads that are served in celebration in India.
