There are lots of spices, which are used in Indian foods and each one of them have a unique feature and distinctive health benefits. Ginger and garlic help in lowering cholesterol levels. Ginger’s use prevents the blood from clotting, while garlic helps in reducing blood sugar levels, cancer and high blood pressure. Cardamom is considered good for digestion, body cleansing and also effective in respiratory allergies. Green cinnamon prevents and treats throat problems, cleans teeth and gums and is also good in pulmonary tuberculosis and lungs congestion. Coriander and Tamarind improve digestion. Turmeric, an antibacterial agent, is antiseptic. Fenugreek seeds reduce blood glucose and cholesterol levels and good for diabetes.
