Sweet cicely, a close American cousin of sweet chervil is a European herb that is known to cut down your sugar intake. It is very easy to grow and is typically seen during spring and early summer time. While in Britain, there are lot many uses of this sweet herb also called as sweet fern or sweet humlock, let us dig up some of the common uses for it:-

1)Leaves of sweet cicely are put in desserts and many kinds of sweet dishes to decrease the sharpness of sugar.

 2) The stalks of this herb are chopped and are used over candied fruit pies and custards.

3) It makes for an excellent jam when paired with rhubarb.

4) It is also used in making schnapps.
