Paprika, botanical name Capsicum annum L, is a hot spice of Hungary. The Turks had brought it in Hungary in the 17th century. A chemical called capsaicin causes the hotness in paprika. It is a rich source of Vitamin C and few other minerals. Grinding the dried deep red paprika can produce its powder.
