Grapefruit has one special group of chemicals that are sometimes referred to as toxin. It is called myristicin. It has negative health aspects like internal bleeding, skin rashes and acute allergic reaction. People who happen to get in contact with this toxin can also get hallucinogenic, that is some sort of mental disturbances.
